Carluccio’s Pasta

Prospect studio was invited to design a new pasta shape for Carluccio’s Italian restaurants.
This was a deliberately challenging brief for furniture and product designers, however it is a study in forms, materials, production techniques and concepts that can be applied broadly to all types of objects.
Carluccio’s were looking for something unique and thought-through that may either respond to the rich history of pasta, or develop an entirely new concept. The studio looked at all possible production techniques ranging from hand made to automated machinery, from moulded to blown to extruded forms to discover entirely new ideas for a traditional product.
The project concluded on the 31st January with a client presentation at Carluccio’s head office. This project was featured in dezeen
